Das Demokratieprinzip gehört zu den Staatsfundamentalnormen im Grundgesetz. Aber was konkret macht eine Demokratie zur Demokratie? Viele einzelne Elemente werden schon im Schulunterricht, später in den Vorlesungen zum Verfassungsrecht angesprochen: Parteien, Wahlen, Parlamente; Meinungs-, Presse-, Vereinigungs- und Versammlungsfreiheit. Aber wie genau sorgen das Grundgesetz und das einfache Recht eigentlich für das Funktionieren von Demokratie? Wie kann Demokratie „sich wehren“?
In sieben Terminen werden wir uns mit zentralen Gesetzen und Gerichtsentscheidungen beschäftigen, die Demokratie konkretisieren und aus einem abstrakten Prinzip konkrete Praxis machen. So entsteht ein Eindruck von den Problemfeldern demokratischer Praxis. Auch wissenschaftliche Beiträge können vorgestellt werden.
Die erste Doppelstunde dient der allgemeinen Einführung ins Thema mit einem Überblick über das „VerfassungsRecht“ der Demokratie. Es folgen Vertiefungen zu wichtigen Themenfeldern, die wir nach Ihren Interessen auswählen können. Die Themen werden jeweils eingeleitet durch studentische Impulse, in der Regel zu einem zentralen Text, den wir dann gemeinsam diskutieren und in die größeren Zusammenhänge einbinden.
Neben der Vertiefung von Fachwissen bietet das Kolloquium Gelegenheit, das Präsentieren/Diskutieren einzuüben. Beides – Wissen und seine Darstellung - ist examensrelevant!
Das Kolloquium kann zum Erwerb einer Schlüsselqualifikation genutzt werden.
Die Zahl der möglichen Teilnehmer:innen ist wegen des interaktiven Charakters begrenzt. Interessierte werden gebeten, sich spätestens bis zum 21.10.2024 per Mail an lscancik@uos.de mit Angabe ihrer Einzelnoten im Öffentlichen Recht anzumelden.
Im Übrigen: first come, first served. Falls Sie einen oder mehrere Themenwünsche haben, teilen Sie uns diese bitte mit.
