Beschreibung
Der Nährboden großer Musik ist die Leiderfahrung. Rundum glückliche Menschen komponieren höchstens mittelmäßige Musik. Ob Bach, Händel, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann oder Mahler: Viele ihrer Werke sind aus eigener Leiderfahrung entstanden. Und sie versuchen in ihrer Musik dieses Leid zu überwinden. Ihren individuellen Gestaltungsweisen wird nachgegangen, z.B. anhand von folgenden Werken:
- Mozarts Werke nach dem Tod von Mutter und Vater
- Schumanns Lieder im Umkreis seiner Liebe zu Clara Wieck
- Beethovens Werke und seine Taubheit: 5. und 9. Sinfonie, Monscheinsonate und Appassionata
- Schuberts Werke nach der Erfahrung seiner Syphilis-Erkrankung, z.B. h-Moll-Sinfonie
- Mahlers Werke in Auseinandersetzung mit seinem Judentum: Der Film "The Little Drummer Boy"
- Mahlers 10. Sinfonie und das Verhältnis seiner Frau Alma mit Walter Gropius
- Tschaikowskys 6. Sinfonie und sein darauf folgender Suizid
- Welche Probleme hatte Bach in der Kantate "Ich hatte viel Bekümmernis" BWV 21?
- Was motivierte Händel zu seinem "Messiah" nach einer lebensbedrohlichen Erkrankung?
Parallel dazu wird die POPULÄRE MUSIK nach entsprechenden Erscheinungen befragt und untersucht, ob es Vergleichbares oder eher Unterschiedliches gibt.
